  • 2 pounds beef chuck roast
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • 4 slices provolone cheese (optional)
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Pat the beef chuck roast dry and rub it with olive oil, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  2. Sear the beef in a skillet over medium-high heat until browned on all sides (optional).
  3. Transfer the beef to the Crockpot.
  4. In a bowl, mix beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and soy sauce; pour over the beef.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours until tender.
  6. Shred the beef with two forks and return it to the Crockpot to soak in juices.
  7. Serve on hoagie rolls with small bowls of au jus.
