  • 1 egg
  • 2 small coriander roots
  • 2 tsp black peppercorns
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1/4 cup finely diced carrots
  • 2 tbsp finely chopped green onions
  • 2 dried shiitake mushrooms (soaked and finely chopped)
  • 3 tbsp golden mountain sauce
  • 1.5 tbsp white sugar
  • 2.5 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • Dumpling wrappers

Instructions

  1. Prepare the spice mixture by crushing coriander roots, black peppercorns, and garlic in a mortar and pestle until fine.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine golden mountain sauce, white sugar, sesame oil, and oyster sauce until blended.
  3. Blend ground pork with the sauce mixture, egg, and cornstarch until smooth.
  4. Transfer the filling to a large bowl; add the crushed spice mixture and diced vegetables, mixing thoroughly.
  5. Shape each dumpling by placing a wrapper over a spoon, adding filling in the center, moistening edges with water, folding up and sealing.
  6. Steam the dumplings on parchment-lined steamer for about 10 minutes until cooked through.
