- 14 oz ground pork
- 1 egg
- 2 small coriander roots
- 2 tsp black peppercorns
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1/4 cup finely diced carrots
- 2 tbsp finely chopped green onions
- 2 dried shiitake mushrooms (soaked and finely chopped)
- 3 tbsp golden mountain sauce
- 1.5 tbsp white sugar
- 2.5 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- Dumpling wrappers
Instructions
- Prepare the spice mixture by crushing coriander roots, black peppercorns, and garlic in a mortar and pestle until fine.
- In a mixing bowl, combine golden mountain sauce, white sugar, sesame oil, and oyster sauce until blended.
- Blend ground pork with the sauce mixture, egg, and cornstarch until smooth.
- Transfer the filling to a large bowl; add the crushed spice mixture and diced vegetables, mixing thoroughly.
- Shape each dumpling by placing a wrapper over a spoon, adding filling in the center, moistening edges with water, folding up and sealing.
- Steam the dumplings on parchment-lined steamer for about 10 minutes until cooked through.
