Description

Kimchi Mandu (Korean Kimchi Dumplings) are a delicious and versatile dish that brings together a perfect blend of spicy, tangy, and savory flavors.   • 1 cup kimchi (finely chopped and drained)
  • 1/2 lb ground pork (80/20 lean to fat ratio)
  • 8 oz firm tofu (1/2 a pack drained)
  • 1/3 cup bean sprouts (blanched and chopped)
  • 1/2 medium yellow onion (minced)
  • 1 cup Korean garlic chives (finely chopped)
  • 2 ounces dangmyeon (sweet potato starch noodles) (cooked and chopped into small pieces)
  • 1 tablespoon garlic (minced)
  • 2 teaspoons ginger (grated)
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 pack round mandu dumpling wrappers (room temperature)

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the finely chopped kimchi, ground pork, drained tofu, blanched bean sprouts, minced onion, chopped garlic chives, and cooked dangmyeon.
  2. Add minced garlic, grated ginger, sesame oil, soy sauce, sugar, salt, and black pepper to the mixture. Mix everything thoroughly until well combined.
  3. Take one round mandu wrapper and place it in your hand. Spoon about 1 tablespoon of the filling into the center of the wrapper.
  4. Wet the edges of the wrapper with water to help seal it. Fold the wrapper over to create a half-moon shape and pinch tightly to seal securely.
  5. Fill your steamer with water and bring it to a boil. Place the assembled dumplings in a single layer on the steamer basket. Steam for about 30 minutes or until fully cooked through.
