- 1¼ cups vegetable oil
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 2 eggs
- 2 tbsp red food color
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp white vinegar
- 2½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1¾ cups granulated sugar
- 2 tbsp dutch process cocoa powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- ¾ tsp salt
- 9 ounces dark chocolate – finely chopped
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 tbsp Kahlua
- Sweetened Coconut to sprinkle on top
- Valentine Sprinkles
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a bundt pan.
- In a bowl, mix wet ingredients: vegetable oil, buttermilk, eggs, red food color, vanilla extract, and white vinegar.
- In another bowl, whisk dry ingredients: flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to wet mixture until just combined.
- Pour batter into the bundt pan and bake for about 60 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
- While cooling, prepare ganache by simmering heavy cream then mixing in chopped chocolate, butter, and Kahlua until smooth.
- Drizzle ganache over cooled cake and top with coconut and sprinkles.
