  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 8 oz shell pasta
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
  • Reserved pasta water, as needed

Instructions

  1. Boil salted water in a large pot. Add shell pasta and cook until al dente. Reserve about 1 cup of pasta water before draining.
  2. Season steak pieces with salt and pepper. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and sear the steak until browned on all sides (about 4–5 minutes). Remove from heat.
  3. In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat, add garlic and sauté until fragrant (about 30 seconds). Stir in heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Gradually add Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Toss the drained shell pasta into the sauce until thoroughly coated, adding reserved pasta water as needed for consistency.
  5. Serve the creamy pasta topped with seared steak bites and garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
